ever though how close are the future world to us now? following a link i came to Current TV and saw a videocast on Hug shirt by Cute Circuit. it was really cool idea. Pressure can be applied on different areas on the hug shirt, and the values of the different areas will be measured and passed via bluetooth to a mobile phone. This can be then sent to another hug shirt user where you want your "hugs" to be sent. The received message on the other end will inteprate and send the values to the recepient's hug shirt. The shirt will then apply vibration and warmth on the spots pressed by the sender to simulate hug :)

as mentioned by the people in Cute Circuit, they are excited because they are doing something doable, but not done by anyone before. Yup. All the tech people will sure say "yeah, of course that is possible. It is so easy to do this do that yada yada". But isn't that our normal situation now? We are not really short of technology and ideas, but we usually don't do them. It takes people who are determined to make things happen. Else we are just merely dreamers, instead of achievers. 

In my research I do look into things related to the pervasive computing world. Many things are technically sound, but we are only steps away from putting them together to prove we can push ourselves one step further. The success of the Hug shirt prototype gave me lots of inspiration - we need to observe what people want. We can do things that might looks trivial but no one had tried. We can help our future.
