internet tablet

what you and i can do next for the Nokia Internet Tablet?

if you have got yourself a N800 or N810, and wish to use it for productivity purposes, the latest tutorial from Tablet School might interest you. It is already known that USB host mode is supported via a software update, but if you are lazy or afraid to try it out, the tutorial will give you a video how-to to get it working!

so time to get yourself a USB keyboard or USB to PS/2 adaptor for your favourite keyboard and boast it with your IT :)

Nokia N810 is in the house (not mine yet though)

well, reporting away from home. ahem ahem.

if you have been following the development of different gadgets, especially the linux ones, you will surely not want to miss this. The Nokia N810 is released today (for those still having 17.10.2007) (hmm, one day before the Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon is released :P). In my case as i read it it is already 18th now.

Updating N800 Kernel, the different way

today another firmware update was announced for the N800, and it will fix the sdhc problem some are facing. As usually, almost everybody complaint about the pain of reinstalling all applications, since the firmware update brings you a "fresh installed" Internet tablet. For those who are frustrated with reinstallation of many working applications, or those with boot from MMC/SD card systems, i think the firmware update will be a boring long procees, before one resume in the last state of a working tablet (mine is at least since my use/update in June/July). So it's time to look for alternatives.

new Nokia tablet planned and coming out?

just right before i want to go to sleep (it is way past bed time) i looked at my Liferea for some RSS feed updates... and surprisingly besides 5xmom's update, i saw ThoughtFix update his blog with this interesting news - a possible new Internet Tablet might be on its way. It seemed that he found some new stuffs submitted by Nokia to FCC and it can be likely a new tablet. This will make me feel excited again, even though it might not be a good thing. Remember what happened to Nokia 770 when N800 was released? It was almost felt like being set aside with all the improvement plans. Until now one can only "enjoy" some of the new stuffs on a hacker edition of ITOS2007. Would this happen to N800 when the new kid is in town?

Some daily usage of N800

time to use and play with it... :) was thinking to myself, how to actually use such a device? Now i have some suggestions for you...
