Have you ever heard of the term "Medical tourism"? It has become a normal part of our time. People will make a holiday trip somewhere, and then at the same time take a cosmetic surgery abroad. The reason is simple - pricing in some countries are higher than some other. And for example, in Czech, the services of specialist from eastern Europe are cheaper and can be even more qualified than some of the clinics in western Europe. So if you can pay less for the medical service, while enjoy yourself in a touristic area and rest, it does sound like a great idea, right?

one thing about staying in Germany is the painjoy of Do It Yourself. DIY is no longer something new, the only thing that would decide is the cost of getting things done. Back home it might be still cheaper to get things done by others, since costs are relatively worth it than trying it yourself. This is going to change when you standard of living starts to increase...

when you are in a place, like germany, where you see lots of new cars and free-to-use highways (autobahn), very soon you will also wish that you can own a car and cruise around freely (provided you have enough moolah, of course). So when pocket is kind of tight, but the urge is getting greater, i think some would turn to car loans for help. In fact, who buys things today without loans, right?

remember a while ago, i wrote about online coupons? Some might ask when would i actually need one, since that also means buying more things (than one needs). True, but at certain period of time, such saving tips can actually be handy. At end of the year, for instance, you might be preparing for another round of gifts shopping - now at this point you will certainly be happy if you can have some savings while buying gifts for your love ones, right?

many years ago (really many years ago, say back in 1994?) i got my first pair of boots. mind you, that is not just any pair of boots, but a pair of Dr. Martens. Ever since, i don't think i will find anything more comfy than that. I mean, other shoes are also nice, but a pair of Dr. Martens are made for all kinds of situations and events (at least for me :P). i use it as leisure shoes and semi-casual shoes... and sometimes as work shoes. Sadly, it was stolen in front of my own house. until now i have tried different other brands, but i think the experience stays (no offence to you, Mr. Timberland).

location based services might be something new to some of you, but it is moving strong forward to prepare itself for the future. The LBS is a concept that uses location based information to provide services or functionality. Think in this direction - you are in the middle of the city, you are hungry, the service provider can locate nearby restaurant that suites your taste and likings, and tell you how to get there easily. Or you are planning to go out, but have no idea where. You can check out and see where your friends are in town, and make a suggestion where everyone should meet.

we do similar things too today, but they are far too costly or complicated. Take the second scenario, for example. If we were to do this, we usually need to call the friends up, and make agreement among ourselve before we can decide on one place. Some might suggest to use conference... yeah, but why do this manually, when a service provider can do this automatically?

The field of location based services can be very broad. It can be applied in areas like security and safety, or used in enterprises (think DHL global tracking 2.0), or to be offered to consumers or government. If you have watched Minority Report, you can see how location can be used to provide various advanced services to their potential users. Walk around the town, and your mobile ring to tell you something you might be interested to buy just 5m away, because your supply just went out ;)

In this direction we foresee how future can look like. More automation will take place. We save time, while still being able to make decisions ourselves. The services should never take over our lives. Instead, they compliment our daily lives.

I remember during my uni days, student loans are a great help to many students. Why? because not all are born with silver spoon in their mouth. Without money means no school. so if you don't have scholarships, student loan is the next best thing you will ask for.

do you know what is the biggest headache when you move to a new place? i would say it is the address change that will make me go headache. Why? it is not really easy to keep up with who i should update with my new address :) The few important ones like bank or government departments i think i will not missed them. But for those like different companies i have subscribed services, or with family and friends... it will be a while until i realise i should have updated them with my latest addy.

I notice around us everyone is complaining about not being paid well, and money looks constantly smaller than before.
