Some insights into the reason why people got involved in opensource projects

The guys at the ETH Zurich had carried out a survey last year regarding the participation in opensource projects, specifically the Maemo and Openmoko projects. I think i am the only guy from Malaysia who answered the survey :) The result was published and you can view it here. It is good to see this, because often many asked why would one spend time and resources into some thing that cannot bring back money (directly). From the survey certain results will tell us the movement still has its momentum and future.

Take sometime to browse through the result. I have yet to thoroughly browse through the figures, but certain figures are exactly how i would forsee.

Enjoy and keep contributing in your very own ways in the Opensource movement.
