today reading from the nokia 770 tableteer's feeds, and realised that an update for the IT OS 2006 was released on 3th November. being me, the next thing is to grab the update image and install :) so far it took me around 20 minutes to get things up and my network configured. for those who wants the link, here is the news release, and you can go download from the image page. a backup would do you some good before you plunge into the flashing process. after the upgrade, i did a restore. most work immediately except a few fav icons dated diff from the ones in the updated software. I have my contact lists back, my connection profile (save me lots of time to reenter those WEP keys!) and my rss feeds too. however, the previously installed softwares were all *gone*. Well, we sure wish that soon image/software upgrade will not replace every software, else we have to reinstall everything all over again (sometimes as house cleaning it might not be a bad idea, but it is just too tedious to reenter everything into the app manager again, and re-do the installations.)

from experience here i do feel the slight increase of speed. From the news release, promised are improvement of speed for network and bluetooth, browser, rss reader, internet messaging client, and etc. I would be am happy if that application manager would be is (hopefully) finally fixed.  in the previous release, my app manager have never been able to display updates correctly. 

time to get the unit up and running, and start working :)
