coming back from our trip, i notice one thing has changed our lives tremendously - digital camera. More than half of the tourist have one on their hands. Even kids under 10 are running around with one. and mind you, not those al-cheapo types :) With the ability to see what was taken, photography is made easier than before. I think whoever that runs around now with an analog camera (hey, they still exist ok!) will get stares everywhere :)

we've got our Olympus 725SW since last Christmas, and are happy with it until now. It gives above average pictures, especially when you know how to use it. Of course there are short comings here and there, but i think as a light small camera it serves our purposes and needs well. There are naturally urge to get something better, such as Nikon D80. hehe, it all comes back to a realistic question "what do i actually need". 

seriously, a DSLR can make real nice photos. But again, you need to spend so much on a perfect picture, and this hobby is perhaps more expensive than computer gadgets. This does not mean i will never get it. But i am waiting til the time where i know i can start enjoying the joy of photography. Friend has already invite us both to join her go "hunting". :) but at this point, we will stay with the olympus and perhaps do more diving.
