playing safe

i remember when i first came to Germany, one of the many things i am told to do is to get myself an insurance. I go like "huh, why?". Then i realise the country has its policy in enforcing medical health care through insurance. After these years, i understood the importance - when you are insured you can at least rely on it when things happened.

Let's say if you have home insurance, you can have your valuables protected. I even hear cases that you can claim for your bicycle lost if it is stolen somewhere, as long as it is insured. Mind you, the good bikes here are like RM2k and above... i would insured it if i have one (having lost one good bike before). If you go traveling, and your current health insurance does not cover oversea medication, a good travel insurance will come in handy when you get into serious medical problems. Or even lost of important documents you can then get help from your insurance.

so much for yourself. You can even insure for your car and pets by getting them car insurance and pet insurance. Imagine if your beloved pet dog needs a surgery. Nowadays everything is expensive, and you just do not like to have unexpected big expenditure to trouble you. A suitable plan might just be helpful at times of need.

do remember one thing though - read the policies well before you go ahead and sign something. Sometimes you need to understand the fine lines, and not to take things lightly. They are protected by their policies, just in case of any fraud or cheat.
