was really tied up with different stuffs, and only got back from 2 business meeting trips last sunday. that explains the MIA here. Have even no time for MyOSS magazine, which is expected to have its new release soon.
won't have much time to write much, if you need to know more about the trips, pop by to here and here. Tze Ying made a good report of what happened in the past two weeks.
being back in Kassel still with loads of things to do before flying home (yeepee!), i catch up with some news and blogs on and off. One incident caught my attention: the case of the death of Khairul during the last week of November. For more info read here, here, here and here.
the incident is basically about whether did a private hospital insist on some deposit (mind you, RM5000 is around Euro 1,150) before attending to a patient. The latest story the hospital claimed that they never insist on deposit, opposed to what the family members of the victim said. I cannot make any comments since both sides of the story do not agree with each other. You be the judge.
all i noticed is a few things. Khairul was a brave and bright boy. He stood up when someone (his relative) was being teased by bad people. I also wonder, whether the attack was partly due to Khairul's used of language - English. Some might think "hey, how come you are speaking a foreigner's language?" (that leads to another sad case in Malaysia... the go back incident). I think mentality reflects a person a lot. It is just sad to see people not being able to move on, and sadder when they think others should not move on since they don't like it.
and if this incident involved someone else, who's family members are not working with PM's office, or family members do not know anyone in the government (note: Deputy Prime Minister) and is not so prominent, would it be such a big hoo-haa? i wonder a lot.
my deepest condolence to Khairul's family members, and wish them strength and comfort during this time.
ps: might update when i have the time... else we should remember this incident, and move on.
