you might have heard about online auction sites, where you have to place the highest bid to win. But now you have one that you should bid lowest in order to win.

yeah, lowest!

now, before you get excited about bidding 1 cent, this is not as you have understood. At bid4prizes it works this way: first find a prize that you like and place a bid to win it. You can place bid from 0.1 to 0.99 as your bid, which means the percentage of the total price you will pay. If you are the only bidder with a unique lowest bid, you will win the prize! The example at the site explained it well:

On the 50” HDTV every penny from .01-.75 all have two or more bids on
them but .76 only has 1 bidder. When the auction ends whoever bid .76
owns the low unique bid and wins the 50” HDTV! If this is you imagine
how happy you are now!

looking at the site, they have quite some offerings. There are quite some thing that i would wish to have. But if i have to choose one, my dream prize would be the Philips 50" Plasma TV :) Imagine this beauty sits in the hall of my living room, entertaining my guests and me with great resolution and picture quality. Yummy :) To win this prize, i must then try to win my bid with low unique bid! It will not be easy, but i must estimate how much i would offer so that i can be the only unique lowest bid among all bidders. The trick is not to have the lowest bid of all time, but to find out which bid is not yet taken by other bidders. This require some luck, and skills :) i will try last minute to put in my estimated unique bid, and observe what the system might tell me if the given bid is lowest and unique bid. The competition would be high, but may the lowest unique bid wins :)

For those who are interested, all you need now is a mobile phone, and you can start bidding! (though only for US residents, i think)
