little things this week

it is a pretty busy week. quite some things to catch up, and still always feel i would need to get more sleep...

1. One day less - Monday was still a public holiday. so officially the week started only on Tuesday. Looking at the things we have to do - Easter Monday Perki service, Tuesday evening concert with Dresden's Gospel-Night choir, work work work and 1 CSI episode only this week... it is kind of a sign that i need break. btw, CSI episodes can be used to measure how much free time one has :) the more episodes you manage to catch in a week, shows you have the extra time to spend ;)

2. new gadget hunt - ying's inherited T20 is showing signs of age. Its screen can be rather naughty at times, so we have been thinking of getting a nice TFT screen to ease her eyes. But another idea is to get a newer notebook since the T20 is at least to-date 5 years old... Now it is a BIG challenge for me - what would be a good choice for a replacement gadget? In my mind now, perhaps a T23 with lots of RAM would be sufficient, or perhaps we would just get a new centrino notebook (which is not really expensive nowadays, surprisingly).

decisions decisions decisions.

3. the reasoner we are using for our project is still under hacking - need to get negation working in order to support requirement of our applications. So far still no news/update from the developers, but i hope we will get an updated version very soon. Meanwhile hacking is a great learning progress. I wonder if i can perhaps start one on my own :)

4. The book from Sean is nice - i am talking about this book. If you always think you have no idea how to start doing something more with open source code, try this book. Eventhough it is talking about how to develop for GAIM, but the steps and instructions can be used generally for most opensource projects. It at least give you an impression how one can get involved and start learning to live like a hacker :) go get it if you are interested.

5. i am quite sold to google calendar. Have been testing it this week, and been also importing/exporting calendar to see how sharing and using can really be done.
