Interesting place to eat in Helsinki

if you happened to drop by this city, i have some suggestions for you to drop by for nice and special restaurants. I did not visit every restaurant, anyway, since they are not exactly cheap :)

but if you are in town, and somewhere near train station, you should look for Zetor restaurant. If you are familiar with heavy machines, you might know Zetor tractors . you can see some reviews from virtual tourist. Don't be scared by some little comments like "pricey" or "weird". I think this place is brilliant. You find very creative settings, like country side arrangement of tables and chairs, or newspaper like menu, with very humourous descriptions, or even the helsinki tourist menu - all on a milk tetra pack :)

i did not copy down the taglines used in the menu, but if i can find it i will post it here :)

my colleague and i went over last night just to get a quick finnish dinner. Trust me, most Finns will tell you no such thing as finnish food. well, strictly speaking, they do have something... just that it is perhaps not common or typical to look for that :) Zetor does have a nice collection of creative dishes. Some of them are perhaps unique only found in Finnland. Nik had a reindeer dish, while i took some small fishes (i think they are called vendace). It was a simple but nice dinner. price wise? from 15 to 18Euro (i rounded them up). A beer in Zetor will set you 4.50Euro back. well.. :)

If you really want to try similar thing, but only wish to pay less, i have found another place, introduced by ac . Boy it was really great there. Of course, the company we had was even nicer than the food... but i wished i know that place. Ahem, cannot praise another restaurant too much while saying Zetor is nice (but pricey)... :D

stay tuned, another restaurant coming soon.
