Dear Internet,
i just wonder, if your notebook can adapt its settings according to the environment you are current in, what are things you wish to see or have? At this point we can at least get the best connection (via NetworkManager) and perhaps best display (via xrandr/xorg), but most of the time we still need to configure a little here and there. Is it necessary to have an "intelligent system" that knows what it should serve you according to your current situation? Or the system should always be passive?
missing from action i am. Busy i am, but lazy i hope i am not. :)
even though this might be a little late (at home it is already afternoon :) ), but after reading the post from Susan, i think i wish to also take this chance to tell all the visitors something about Easter...
this weekend we are visiting our friend in frankfurt. we have decided to travel light - in other words, no heavy stuffs, no non-sense and no notebook. but i would not want to be totally disconnected, so naturally i need my gadgets around. therefore the n800 has been called into duty again.
this time i do it slightly different. i tried the thumb keyboard since i find typing using the stylus rather slow. so far it does the job pretty fine, surprisingly! it is not 100% like using the normal keyboard but it is also not as bad as i thought. perhaps it is just a matter of getting used to.
the phenomenon of Apple is everywhere. you see many products trying to use the alphabet "i" and many people will use "i" for things they say. But i think the most extreme case for myself is the following, what i saw on my way to work :)
since lack of updates, perhaps it is time to announce what kept us busy :)
have you ever come across some incidents - you dream of something, and after some time, you realize that you dream actually takes place in real life? i have such Déjà vu experience before, although i have no explanation. It could be just coincidence, or perhaps i have been day dreaming :)
trying to switch between display modes under linux had never been easy. At least with xrandr 1.2 things are much better than before - i can finally change display mode without restarting Xorg. But the "standard" FN-F7 was never a working trigger i can use. Being lazy, i never go looking for solution... until today.
i was watching the tv a few days ago, and saw this interesting not-so-new news - Tom Tom, the leading navigation system company released a new product/system end of last year. The system is able to process traffic jam information, based on the anonymous mobile phone information collected in different base stations. The press release can be read here.
VLC media player 0.8.6c Janus The program '.' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'. (Details: serial 477 error_code 11 request_code 144 minor_code 5) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
