Great news for us, good old MD supporters

i wonder how many out there still use a (or more) minidisc player/recorder(s)? When i bring mine around, many would look and get curious, and eventhough are impressed with what my units can do (yes, i do have 2 MD recorders now if you may ask), they are not moving over to our camp. MP3 portable players still rules in the majority.

anyhow, today i came back from choir practice and saw this in my email... a notice from the MiniDisc.org forum. great news! Sony Japan published news about another new model of MD recorder finally! the RH1 looks real promising - OLED, nice display, support of older format (MDLP, NetMD) transport to PC, and others which we have already seen in the second and first generation MD recorders.

from the forum you get lots of excited response and hopes, posted by members. From another source Endgadget also published the news, though the author wasn't really a fan of MD i think.

i am happy for my quite new NH900, which i've got from a good deal down under (thanks byte for transporting!). With it i have made quite some recordings so far, and also enjoyed the luxury of 1GB discs. Users of mp3 players with more than 1GB (there are many 4GB-40GB MP3 players nowadays) might say "so what? only 1GB...", but the convenience of being able to carry different discs (and reuse my old 80Min discs) and pretty good battery life, and most important of all - great recording quality, have already fulfiled my need for a portable player.

so time to save up for the new 3rd generation MD recorder, when my recoders break down years later (the R700 i have since 2001 still kickin now!) i would have the $$$ to buy them :) some in the forum already are considering a real job or even a second job to buy the RH1... :) we are hardcore supporters i think :)
