Fear about things

while chatting with a friend, we talked about fears in things that will happen in life and how it can haunt us. I suddenly had this thought - when we think about fear, it is usually about things that is not even there yet. If something you fear becomes true, i doubt you should be afraid of it then. It is then called a fact, something you have to face and move on.

we often have worries about many things, and some of these things will eventually haunt us as fear. There are usually two reactions - we either try to ignore it, or we might be frightened until we cannot move on. But what i lately read about Darlene Zschech (of Shout to the Lord fame) in her Wiki entry, she said - "I felt I could either scream and pull my hair out — or praise God".

Now that is a new perspective. We actually have the third reaction - we focus on Him and let Him do the job solving our problems. For some of you it might sound crazy, since it actually suggests that we don't care about the problem. Well, don't care does not mean ignoring it and pretending it never happens. I would choose to see it as knowing consciously that a problem exists, but at the same time i also know i cannot do it and i need help. When my Helper can solve it, i no longer need to fear it anymore.

So much preaching - let's try and learn how to hand fears over to the fear-buster Himself.
