if you are not new to the Internet, or better, not new to the whole Web 2.0 trend, you definitely know something about social bookmarking, namely perhaps the best example: del.icio.us.

while looking through things and writing up concepts on my work, i suddenly have this thought: I wonder how many people really using it, and what do they think about such tools/concepts. del.icio.us is a social bookmarking web service for storing, sharing, and discovering web bookmarks [1]. It allows people to use folksonomy to name their web bookmarks, and people can exchange and find related web bookmarks by using this facility.

what i would like to know is how useful had del.icio.us been to you, and how does this concept helps you to be more organized (in other words, now you can find things you read earlier better than before). The concept might not be 100% improvement to you previous tools, but as long as it brings improvements, it is already doing you good. The question is: how good and what is good. I would really appreciate if anyone would be able to leave their comments here on this topic, and enlightened us who are unfamiliar with social bookmarking. You can also help by spreading this around, so that your friends can help filling up this non-formal questionaire.

The reason for such a question is simple. The whole web2.0 thingy had brought to our attention since 2004, and one of the main attraction behind it is the collaborativeness of web. Even when you read this and comment on it, you are doing exactly what web2.0 and its successors should provide. The whole thing should not just stop here. It is the needs of web users that push the limit higher. yes, the needs of you and i. If we are able to identify the niche and needs, we can see the future much clearer too (hopefully).
