the past weeks are tougher than ever. not because of things we are used to, but for new experiences and new journey ahead. Never have we thought of things like that to take place, but still we believe in Him who knows all things -
If you do read about the news about the floods in Malaysia that took away many homes and left many more in devastated state, and know nothing about how you can help, i might have something for you. A group of bloggers have already made a round of collection and personally buy stuffs to bring down to areas in johor to distribute stuffs to needing flood victims.
in the middle of my work and busyness, suddenly this thought appeared in my mind:
"how do i know whether i am on the right path in things i am doing now?"
i have no best answer. But i have this answer:
by walking it.
bible has this part that says:
"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."
so often this verse has been "abused" in telling everyone to give offering cheerfully. Well, i do believe that we should give God a portion of what we have (better still, tithe) and we must do it cheerfully (else what's the point of offering if we are giving out unwillingly). It is not about God being poor or stingy, or even He relies on our offering. He has(or even owns) everything, so we should not have such thinking in our minds.
"It's not about us. It's about Him. I am nothing, He is everything."

"Don't have anything to do with foolish and stupid arguments, because you know they produce quarrels." - Paul in 2 Timothy.
do you actually know quarrels do not start by themselves? You actually need at least two persons to start one. often we would blame someone for invoking a quarrels, but we conveniently neglect the other person who add on stuffs to heat up the discussion. It is perhaps our very own human nature to always push the responsibilities, no matter big or small, to other people. It might even happen so naturally yet unconsciously. Bottomline is, quarrel bound to happen and then people will ultimately get hurt.
perhaps you have been singing, in small group or choir, or perhaps you are a fan of some choirs. Have you ever asked "why we/you sing?" ?
does not sound like a complicated question, right? But i think you might set some back to think a little, and you will get answers like "singing is my hobby" or "i love singing" or "i have lots of fun singing". Well last night during and after the Oslo Gospel Choir concert in Kassel, the answer sounded different from above. They sing because they know God wants them to. They sing because they have a message to tell everyone - "Jesus loves you, and you need to know and believe in Him".
i have been telling people that i want to watch The Chronicles of Narnia when we are back home. And guess what, we can even use the statement "I have not even made it to watch narnia" to explain to others how busy our schedules are
.
After attempting numerous time to book ticket online/via telefon for our nearby Bukit Raja TGV, i gave up this morning and tried Sunway Pyramid instead, and there we go. Got tickets for 3 of us: my wife, my mother in-law and me. We entered to the show slightly later, and the Pevensie family were already running and hiding from bombers.
Again we have Christmas near the corner. Great opportunity for shops to sell more, and people to buy more. Gifts, cards and smses would be flying around either on the Christmas eve or on the big day itself. we are kind of used to it, i think, no matter if you are a christian (serious or non-serious ones) or not. It is just so amazing: everyone can celebrate Christmas in regardless of your origin and religion. The reason behind? it is less "christian" than it should be.
my wife asked me about it a few weeks ago,
