the talk

Easter for you and me

even though this might be a little late (at home it is already afternoon :) ), but after reading the post from Susan, i think i wish to also take this chance to tell all the visitors something about Easter...

old fashion gifts

after being complained by andi, i've decided to write something. i do think no blog as a sign of being busy and occupied, though i do not know what others might perceive ;)

while reading through some usual feeds, i noticed the blog from Seth very true:

Today is Malaysia's Merdeka day!

Today's gonna be slightly different. You might not find the usual blue.. but instead, urhm, this :) I will probably keep it this way until say 16th of September, because...

Malaysian Indian peaceful gathering

read from Jeff's latest entry on the Indian peaceful gathering in Putrajaya last Sunday. It was carried out by the Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) and lasted around 3 hours. I am impress with their approach and courage - right before the coming general election it is always a good time to voice out your need. Even if things will not be done, you have the chance to bet on some heard voices and possible changes. What i do notice is the resolution made by them:

Happy Easter to you

ever wonder why is Easter celebrated? Do you know who is the center of this event, and why christians go through this year after year?

love and hate about money

this is not just another sponsored post. i find the topic interesting too: is money your friend, or foe?

i remember the time when some of the friends have started working, and only common complain they say is "money not enough". Until today, i doubt many have changed their statements - money is never enough :)

can you manage your (credit) cards?

are you always troubled with your decisions on your credit card(s)? you love the idea of credit card, but at the same time you hate it? perhaps you can read on...

Easter

today is Easter. we had two services, one at 5am (yes, 5am) and the other at 10am. the former was together with the choir, and the choir sang during the service. The latter was with our regular church.

The 5am service was nice and interesting. This year seemed to bring more impact than the one we had last year. Perhaps we were more awake this round :) It start short after 5, in darkness with a sketch: a court where the death and resurrection of Jesus wwe as judged. Different witnesses were called: Pontius Pilate, Saul (and Paul), Maria Magdalene and Simon Peter. Pretty creative way to talk about what happened years ago as Jesus resurrected.

dead ends anyway

if you have been following the news on this guy in Afghanistan, you perhaps would know things are still not certain on his case. On one hand, he should be given death sentence for leaving Islam. On the other hand, from other countries' and religions' view, the death sentence is not something human to have. No matter what, the act of Adbur in keeping his faith has brought attention to some all around the world.

I am only worried about his future. Nope, not in the sense that he might die. I might be the only one thinking that he will certainly die. Why? simple. According to the law in his country, he should be put to death according to the law. But due to the pressure from other countries, the government might reconsider and find a way to aviod conflicts. But even if the government decided to leave him in peace, the moment he leaves the court, i do not know whether he would be the next on the assasination list. There would be many out there who will think killing him will add merits to them. Don't forget, it is his own family members who have exposed him.

is there more than just... life?

it's sunday again, and after two services, some thoughts of the day...

Life
we all have lives. some like it with career,  some has priority in their families. Some knows their limits, and will always try to overcome them. Some seek their whole life, in order to find some explanations or meaning to life, and some never find them. No matter what, there is something we cannot neglect - without knowing our lives, it is perhaps not much meaning continuing one's life.

how do you define yours?

Growing pains
"Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and perch in its branches." - matthew 13:32
